As I continue to explore and learn the world of coffee there has been one thing that has continued to intrigue me, the coffee flavor wheel. A question that constantly runs through my mind is how in the world does coffee have ALL of these flavors in it? A single coffee bean can contain over 800 flavors at the time it is harvested, throughout the processing and roasting however, some of these flavors vanish. Don't worry though, there are plenty of flavors left to make your taste buds dance with joy!
Coffee is harvested in many different regions of the world, and in all of those different regions are different fruits, vegetables, spices, trees, and plants that contribute to the flavors that are in the coffee beans. This is why I LOVE trying all of the different coffees! So...how do you get good at tasting coffee, and all the flavors in coffee?
I'll tell you what we are going to do, we are going to start a vlog series called (Something Catchy that we are still trying to think of), and it is going to be a series of episodes. These different episodes are going to be comprised of different foods; fruits, veggies, spices, nuts, chocolates, and so on, that we are going to taste and share our experience with you. This is going to help us build a confident palate while we refine our palates therefore improving the overall tasting experience of coffee, teas, and all foods for that matter.
